Matt Silva

Founder/Creative Director/Special Makeup Effects

Matt is the founder and creative director of PDP. Though he is versed in many aspects of the film art department, he focuses his career as a special makeup effects artist for New York based I.A.T.S.E. Local 798 union makeup and hair.  His career has led him to work professionally with Lone Wolf FX/Bill Johnson on major motion pictures, and is acting Art Director for Whitestone Motion Pictures. As creative director, Matt acts as lead conceptualist and builder for the PDP workshop.

Erin Leigh Bushko

Co Founder/Admin Director/Costume Dpt. Head

Erin co-founded PDP with Matt Silva in January of 2009 and is responsible for many of the business aspects of the company. As head of the costume department, she handles the design and creation of all the costumes produced in house. She has been a designer and seamstress for film, professional theaters, and private commissions for over 10 years. On top of all that Erin is also a professionally trained actor. She has a BFA in Music Theatre, a Certificate in Shakespearean Acting from RADA in London, and studied stage combat with world renowned expert Richard Ryan.

Joe Hernandez

Conceptualist/Fabrication/WorkShop Manager

A professional tinkerer and consumate storyteller , Joe Hernandez has been travelling the country for over a decade sharing what he's learned at the workbench and from his experiences. Now working with Penny Dreadful Productions, an all encompassing art department for film, stage and personal productions, as their workshop supervisor, Joe can be found working late shifts in the shop trying to create new ways to outfit and amaze his friends and loved ones. Now working with Penny Dreadful Productions, Joe is putting his talents to use for the forces of good by maintaining order in the shop (he even put the safties back on the tools he rendered, "useful").

KT Cunningham

Conceptualist/Fabrication/Metal Artist/Merchandise 

KT comes from an art background, having graduated from Georgia State University in May 2008. She received her BFA in Studio Art Sculpture. Metal is her preferred material to work with whether it be steel, iron, or aluminium. However, she also works with a variety of different mediums. KT is incredibly ADD when it comes to the jobs/projects she takes on. She'll do just about anything from drawing plans, to painting signs, to bending steel to make four foot staples. She joined PDP in 2009 after meeting and working with Matt and Erin. She is now the Merchandise Coordinator for PDP and The Boiler Room: a Costumes, Props, and Oddities shop.

John Strangeway

Public Relations/Production Assistant

Steampunk Boba Fett (John F. Strangeway) is one of the most recognized figures in both the Steampunk and Star Wars fan communities.  He had the idea for a Steampunk variation for quite some time but lacked the resources to build the suit to match his vision. That changed at AnachroCon 2009, where he met Matt Silva of Penny Dreadful Productions. A few months later, PDP began work on the suit, which debuted at Dragon*Con 2009 to overwhelming acclaim.  John and Matt are featured prominently in the PBS documentary "Four Days at Dragon*Con."

When he’s not portraying Steampunk Boba Fett, John serves as PR/media relations representative for Penny Dreadful Productions. He also works with Dragon*Con Media Relations, appearing on Better Mornings Atlanta and 11Alive in 2010.

Dustin Fletcher

Conceptual/Fabrication

Dustin has been with PDP for a little over a year and is the Art Director and Set Designer. He is versed in many forms of art and fabrication, but focuses his career on Set Dressing and Props for I.A.T.S.E Local 479 union studio mechanics. He has work on many features and television shows in his career. Dustin continues to work and grow as a member of PDP.

Thomas DeSadier

Electromechanical Engineer/Fabrication

Thomas was that kid who took apart all his dad’s power tools just to see if they worked.  The difference with him is that he got them all back together again and they not only worked but sometimes even worked better.  A tinkerer by disposition and an electro-mechanical engineer by training, Thomas honed his skills during 10 years as a US Marine. Now he spends his time building random gadgets with his 12 year old son James and working in R&D for a large global company in Atlanta. And of course playing with PDP.  A lifelong geek, he’s been in the Con scene for nearly 2 decades and even ran Security for Dragon*Con for a few years.   His favorite kind of work to do is Dynamic or Kinetic Art. He says, “Simple elegance is what I strive for in my creations.

Diana Shepherd

Hair Stylist/Fabrication/Model

Diana Shepherd works with Penny Dreadful Productions as their hair stylist and wig maker, and assists with fabrication. She works on photo shoots, as well as styling hair for special events. She first got involved with PDP after joining Whitestone Motion Pictures, where she met Matt and Erin. Diana works with Whitestone's art department in the position of key hair stylist and wig maker. After finishing her education and getting her cosmetology license in 2007, Diana went on to work as a stylist at the international salon Toni and Guy, where she continued her education with classes and photo shoots. Upon deciding to freelance, she opened a salon in her home where she continues with her clients as well as working with Whitestone and Penny Dreadful Productions. In addition to cutting, coloring and styling hair, Diana also creates and designs wigs for both the films she works on as well as for Penny Dreadful Productions.

Brittani Revels

Fabrication

Brittani "Bear Breaker" Revels is a self-proclaimed self-taught creative weirdo.  She can be found manning booths and making dolls. Always willing to lend a helping hand with her hodge podge of various skills.  She is near completion of her Pharmacy Technician Certification, the first step in her mastery and complete understanding of all things Chemical.  Mostly known for her invention of the Explod-a-thing, her Bio, much like her life's ambitions, are a work in progress.

Kim Fasone graduated from the University of GA with a BA in theatre in May 2010. The costume designer and make up artist has since found herself working as a Beauty Consultant at Merle Norman Cosmetics. Through an internship at Whitestone Motion Pictures she has had the opportunity to continue to work on makeup and costuming in film. As one of the newer members of Penny Dreadful Productions, she is thrilled to work as costumer, makeup artist, or seamstress any chance she gets.  In her free time, she enjoys choreographing and volunteering at community theatres.

Sara Holton

Events Coordinator

Sara officially made her way into the Penny Dreadful fold in 2011 with her first appearance at the Carolina Games Summit. In her role as the Events Coordinator, she works out the details of convention appearances by PDP, as well as coordinating events that occur at The Boiler Room. As costumer for a local theme park, she met Erin Bushko in 2007, and their mutual love of sewing arts became the basis of a fast friendship

Mike Kaufman

Fabrication/Conceptualist/Metal Artist

 More than a painter, Mr. Kaufman devises artistically rendered images, practical tools, decorative weapons, aged props, books and ceramics. With over 12 years of experience restoring and reconditioning antiques and collectibles, Mr. Kaufman has attenuated his skills into a confluence of aesthetic regard and utilitarian design. He began his foray into the world of film making as props master on "The Sharpest Blade," and he continues to produce a wide range of props for film and theater.
    His top-notch workmanship takes the skills passed on to him from his father, a master antique restorer, allowing him to tailor his own unique and realistic creations.
   These days, Mike Kaufman shares his talents with Penny Dreadful Productions, and his unique artwork is available for purchase in our store.
